Despite being busy in 2020, the health care sector experienced a significant economic downturn in the second quarter, says Thielen.

In April, Mayo Clinic took several cost-saving measures, including employee furloughs, salary reductions and benefit eliminations.

“Things have come back nicely,” Thielen says. “We’ve been able to restore the vast majority of those cuts.”
